Bill Lawrence Strat Type Birdseye Neck
Thank you for viewing.
This is a neck removed from a used Bill Lawrence BC2E-90B that I purchased.
I am not sure of the exact manufacturing date, but it is in generally clean condition despite some scratches.
Neck body: Birdseye Maple
Fingerboard: Ebony
Position markers: Abalone
Tuners: Original Kluson type
Nut: Changed to Graph Tech (As shown in the image, there is a slight gap due to insufficient thickness. It did not cause any particular playing issues, but the original nut is included.)
Scale: 465mm Long scale
Nut width: 42.5mm
Neck joint width: 56mm
Neck joint thickness: 27mm
Regarding fret wear, I am unsure of the original height, but it appears to be around 50%, which is quite low.
When I actually used it, I didn't notice any significant fret buzzing, so it's likely the previous owner had the frets professionally leveled.
This neck may not be suitable for guitarists who frequently use bending in blues, fast playing in metal, or rock styles. However, it might be suitable for jazz guitarists who frequently use octave techniques or funk guitarists who focus on cutting.
Refretting is recommended if possible.
Regarding the truss rod, I lack the knowledge to describe it precisely, but it feels very tight when tightening and turns indefinitely when loosening.
There are six dents on the back of the neck, ranging from rice grain size to approximately 7mm.
There is an indentation from the wound 5th string on the 4th fret of the fingerboard.
If a neck of similar quality were to be made today, it would likely cost over 100,000 yen.
Thank you.
